South Africans were disappointed - but not really surprised - when the Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, revealed that former Sports Minister, Fikile Mbalula, enjoyed a holiday in Dubai worth R680 000 that was sponsored Sedgars.
When the news broke that Mr FearFokol, Fikile Mbalula, enjoyed a family vacation in Dubai that was funded by famous clothing supplier, Sedgars, the Twitter streets were buzzing with reactions.
Speaking at a briefing in Pretoria this week, Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane revealed that the former Sports Minister’s R680 000 holiday in Dubai was paid for by Sedgars.
It was Eyewitness News that had revealed in 2017 that Sedgars had funded Mbalula’s family vacation, but he claimed that the funds had been a loan from the company.
However, Briefly.co.za reported that the public protector has since found this to be a false statement.
