A viral video shows the moment scores of motorists helped themselves to bottles of beer strewn along a highway.

Botho Molosankwe, a reporter for The Star, shared the video on his Twitter profile, reported.

He indicated that the incident reportedly occurred in Maraisburg, Johannesburg. It's not clear when, however.

A beer truck appears to have lost control of its load, strewing bottles of beer on the side of the highway and along an on-ramp.

Some motorists saw this as an opportunity for "free" beer and stopped their cars to grab several bottles. The scramble caused a minor traffic backlog.
