- Democratic Alliance leader, Mmusi Maimane, had a meal with COPE leader, Mosiuoa Lekota, and social media responded quite heatedly
- The dinner was not taken in a positive light, and the two men were called 'sell-outs' and 'traitors'
- Maimane and Lekota are often spurned by Black Twitter
DA leader, Mmusi Maimane, recently shared a photo of himself sharing a meal with Mosiuoa Lekota, leader of COPE, and South Africans were not impressed.
Maimane shared the photo on social media, and the comments that came pouring in were mostly negative and angry.
Black Twitter called the two men "sell-outs" and accused them of being against their own people and not wanting black people to own land.
As reported by The Citizen, both Lekota and Maimane are often lambasted on social media when their actions and opinions are not agreed with.
Lekota is often looked down on because he joined forces with AfriForum and was standing by Steve Hofmeyr's side against BLF leader Andile Mngxitama.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Maimane's tweet received almost 1 000 comments, of which most was pretty harsh in judgement against him.
