Generations' Lesedi is played by the lovely Luyanda Mazizi - a growing talent that Mzansi enjoys seeing on their screens. She recently admitted she has a famous dad, but won't reveal his identity because she wants her own credit.
South Africa mostly got to know Luyanda Mazizi as Lesedi in Generations, but she's been in the acting business for a while. The gorgeous 21-year-old has been doing work in theatre as well and is quickly becoming a famous young actress.
Luyanda admitted that she does have a father in the entertainment biz, but she doesn't want to reveal who he is yet.
This is one young woman who wants to make her own mark in her career without the influence of her father.
According to a report by ZAlebs, Luyanda's father does "literally everything" and he is the one who showed her she can be more than just an actress.
Luyanda says she never had any help from her father - she accomplished her success on her own.
..my family members are also in the arts...he does a lot of things...he does everything, literally...he actually made me realize I can’t just be an actress...
I’m my own person, so I never wanna get asked about my parents...I literally woke up, sent an email, I’ve looked for an agency on google, like everyone can do. I found one, sent an email and they were like ‘ok cool, come through audition’, I did that audition, they liked me...a week later or two I got an email that Generations is having auditions...
Briefly.co.za gathered that the actress admits she was very nervous when she went for her Generations audition, but very excited as well.
...it was my first audition out of school, I was nervous...I’ve never been on tv before...I flunked it, I went home and I was like I didn’t get it, don’t even worry, I didn’t get it...I was really happy, it was just a reminder that, if you want something, wake up and go get it, it’s really that easy.
Luyanda is a budding actress that will certainly go far, regardless of who her mysterious and famous dad is.
