The African of The Year award honours those African leaders who have helped shape the African economy and contributes in their own wonderful. Forbes chose Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda to be the African of the year for 2018.
Paul Kagame is often referred to as the most beloved African president. He has a huge following and is respected by many.
That's why it came as no real surprise when he was chosen as Forbes' African of the year. Kagame is also the chairperson of the African Union His Excellency, as a report by cnbcafrica indicates.
He was awarded the African of the year at the finale of the All Africa Business Leadership Awards which were held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Rwanda's president will also be on the cover of the December and January Forbes Africa issues.
When asked to whom he dedicates his award, the humble president said "the people of Rwanda,".
Under Kagame, the Rwanda government's progressive visions have been the catalyst for the fast transforming economy. Rwanda's economic growth remained strong in 2018.
