Johannesburg authorities will investigate a fire that broke out in an inner-city building on the 29th of December. One person has been injured after jumping from the building when the fire first broke out on the 8th floor.
A fire suddenly broke out in a building in the inner-city of Johannesburg on the night of the 29th of December.
The 8th floor was ablaze and videos of the burning building were shared on social media as onlookers watched the flames engulf the 8th floor.
One person was injured when he jumped from the building shortly after the fire started, according to a report by EWN.
The man is now recovering in hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the fire.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Robert Mulaudzi, Johannesburg's EMS spokesperson, said it is not clear yet what caused the fire. Mulaudzi added that the man who jumped from the building was treated on the scene.
There was one male adult patient who sustained injuries when he tried to jump from the window from the building. He was treated on scene and later transported to the nearest health facility for further medical care.
