South African musician, Thandiswa Mazwai, feels that if women are given land, they will be much more empowered.
Thandiswa is quite outspoken and doesn't stay silent about the things she thinks matters, and women and their rights are one of those things.
She wants the government to speed up land expropriation, according to a report by eNCA.
Thandiswa was at Johannesburg's Constitution Hill's AfroPunk concert when she spoke about empowering women.
I think the country needs to listen more to the black rage. It needs to listen more to the women's rage. We need the land.
Land will empower women. If women get land it means they can empower themselves.
Thandiswa also spoke about the rights of the gay community - especially women who won't get land unless they are with a man who gets land.
