Two passport controllers at OR Tambo International Airport have been exposed accepting bribes after a video of the incident had been posted on YouTube.
The pair have since been suspended, pending a disciplinary hearing on the 3rd of January, according to a statement released by the airport on Wednesday morning.
The statement had revealed that the officials had been employed by Securitas, which had suspended them on Saturday following the release of the video on social media.
The company had been contracted by Emirates airline and had been conducting a documentation verification process.
The airport went on to say that Emirates is responsible for the conduct of the providers it contracts. The statement reveals that OR Tambo will be taking the matter up with Emirates in order to ensure that this incident will not be repeated.
