Tim grew up in Randfontein in Johannesburg's West Rand, Briefly.co.za learned. According to entrepreneurmag.co.za, his parents were small-scale traders.

He had to help them out to make ends meet. His parents couldn't afford to take him to university when he completed his matric in 1996.

Tim therefore took a free four-week course and became a security guard. Two years later, his determination saw him take a number of IT courses and land an IT job.

His career progressed rapidly into management and sales. However, he still held onto his dream of being a business owner.

Tim developed his outdoor gyms idea and his retrenchment in 2010 compelled him to launch it. He secured funding from investors and despite a number of failures, it eventually succeeded.

The determined entrepreneur wants to create more jobs while keeping South Africans fit and healthy. In an interview, he said:

When someone says something is impossible, I want to know why, and then try anyway. That’s how you achieve great things. That’s how you realise your dreams.
