Reverend Vukile Mehana has incited controversy with his sexist and offensive comments about woman, especially woman in the clergy. Social media users took to Twitter to react to the outlandish comments the ANC chaplain made in a leaked conversation
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that Reverend Vukile Mehana, the ANC Chaplain General, has apologised for offensive comments he had made about women clergy.
Derogatory remarks Mehana had made in a private conversation that has now been leaked. To be specific he apologised to Reverend Nompithizelo Sibidla who he had mentioned in the conversation.
However the apology has done nothing to calm the rage that has ensued. People have taken to social media to voice their opinions and the future is not looking too bright for this supposed man of the cloth.
People have noted that what has transpired could be chalked up to his religion clashing with his fundamental Xhosa beliefs, with others commenting that the Bible itself supports his sexist attitude towards woman.
Women who have commented have lashed out against what many feel is an insult to women everywhere. Users have commented that they feel anything a man can do, a woman can do equally well. The Bill of Rights supports this notion completely.
