Nomzamo Mbatha shares emotional throwback of her graduation journey

Actress Nomzamo Mbatha took to her Instagram account to share several throwback videos of her journey to graduation.

On Thursday, Mbatha took a look back at 2018, the year she finally graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BCom degree in accounting.

As Briefly.co.za reported at the time, Mbatha received her degree during a graduation ceremony in April last year.

Mbatha's graduation day was nothing short of spectacular and her friends and family joined her in the celebrations.

However, in a throwback post on Instagram, Mbatha revealed she received backlash from trolls, who could not understand why her graduation was such a big celebrations.

"I remember seeing on social media vicious people saying I wasn’t the first to graduate and questioning why my graduation was so celebrated, going as far as saying they finished in record time and I did it over NINE YEARS... it broke me... for all of 5 seconds," she started off one post.

Mbatha said she reminded herself that her degree took longer to complete because she was busy chasing her dreams.

She went on to encourage others, adding they should never allow "the pressures of broken people" slow them down.

"My NINE YEAR VICTORY was all the more sweeter. I wouldn’t change a damn thing!" she ended the post.

In another post, Mbatha took a look back at her life and accomplishments in 2018.
