After Gauteng got the top spot with the matric pass rate, South Africans are calling for the man behind education in the province to take over on national level.
Gauteng's Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi, has proven that with dedication and care, South Africa has loads of potential.
The province has a pass rate of 87.9% compared to the national average of 78.2%.
Lesufi has a very hands-on approach in his work, and this is possibly why Gauteng got that top spot. It's also what won him many hearts, according to a report by TimesLIVE.

Lesufi is not scared to take on even controversial issues and uses social media to engage with South Africans about the state of schools and what's needed to improve.
