- Belina was on her way to visit her mom in the Free State
- However, she was still 40km away and the weather was rainy
- A kind Marieta Muller stopped and gave her a lift all the way to her mother's place
A Good Samaritan in the Free State gave a stranded stranger a 40km lift in rainy weather recently.
The woman, Marieta Muller, shared her kind gesture on Positive Relationships in SA's Facebook page, Briefly.co.za learned. She began by saying:
On my way from Zastron to Bloemfontein I saw a lady looking for a lift and picked her up as I felt comfortable about it and it looked like rainy weather.
Marieta learned that the woman, named Belina, was from Cape Town and on her way to visit her mom in Van Stadensrus, which was still 40km away.
The rain got heavier and Marieta decided to drive Belina all the way. They soon struck a warm friendship:
On our trip we had nice discussions about the goodness of God. On reaching the destination she wanted to pay me. She did not have airtime and I told her the story about paying it forward and told her to buy airtime with it. She asked for my number and we gave each other a hug.
Marieta ended her story with a heartwarming remark:
Belina you are a great person. Enjoy your mother In the Township where I never experienced any hostility, only children waving and playing in the streams of water.
Facebook users praised her kind gesture. Prue Chipofya said, "Beautiful what you did Marieta, may your 2019 be full of Joy, Peace and Love."
Nthabiseng Sebiloane commented, "Wow... blessings upon blessings to both of you. I'm so inspired and encouraged that SA will be known for such gestures of Ubuntu nothing else...Peace."
