SuperMega had an impressive year. Being one of Mzansi’s most popular hip-hop stars, AKA is constantly flooding headlines. People love to know everything about him and they get super involved in his movements. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes is AKA’s real name.

The rapper has been in the industry for several years now and his fan list has only grown. With all the buzz around AKA, briefly.co.za has labelled him as one of the celeb newsmakers of the year.

AKA and Cassper Nyovest have been feuding from as far back as 2014, and their feud is considered the best celeb beef.

Cassper Nyovest

Cassper did not come from much, everything he has now is because he worked extremely hard to get it. His success story is an admirable one. He has faced a lot of haters and had a lot of people doubt his capabilities this year.

However, Cassper pulled through and showed them all. From filling up stadiums to being nominated for international awards, Cassper has shone brightly this year. Like a diamond, he has made it through the ruff and showed is worth.

When you are as famous and busy as Cassper, there is always someone talking about you. He is one of Mzansi’s most talked about celebs and has a lot of headlines behind his name.

Nasty C

If you look back at the South African music scene in 2018, you'll see that young and ambitious rapper, Nasty C, was dominating.

He took home the Album of the Year award at the 2018 SA Hip Hop Awards and became the most streamed South African artist on Spotify.

There is no doubt that Nasty is talented and one of the most popular musicians in Mzansi.

Tbo Touch

This former DJ made some major moves in 2018. He not only explored the film industry, but he also gave back to the community. What an example.

Sharpeville dump sites will soon be replaced by clean areas where the children can freely play and hang out. Tbo Touched promised in October that he will be endeavouring to clean up Sharpeville and in December started to make good on that promise.

2018 seemed to be Sjava's year. After putting in the hard work, the 34-year-old muso is finally reaping the rewards. Jabulani Hadebe has come a long way since his days in KwaZulu-Natal's Bergville.

Sjava rose to fame after the release of his debut album, Isina Muva. It had epic songs, like Ekuseni. Sjava was showered with positive reviews and praises. So great was his success, he won a SAMA award for best produced and a Metro FM award for the best-produced album.

SA was bursting with pride when Sjava brought home his BET win for Best International Artist as well.

Legend Manqele

This is one creative engineer South Africans should keep their eyes on. He introduces Mzansi to The Bar magazine and that's not where he plans to stop. This Legend will be doing big things in 2019 as well, watch this space.
