- Kaizer Chiefs are set to become the first PSL club to reach 700 PSL matches on Saturday
- Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United will reach the same milestone later the same day
- Mamelodi Sundowns are the best performing club in the PSL’s history but will only reach 700 fixtures later due to their Champions League commitments
History will be made on Saturday at 3h30pm when Kaizer Chiefs meet Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB stadium.
The Amakhosi will become the first club to reach 700 matches played in the PSL (Premier Soccer League).
Later on Saturday, both Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United will reach the same milestone.
Mamelodi Sundowns trail the other 3 as they still need to play 4 catch-up matches due to their Champions League commitments.
However, Briefly.co.za noted that the Brazilians are still the top performers in PSL history.
They remain the only club with a win rate greater than 50% and boast the most wins, goals and points since the competition’s inception.
TimesLive reported that Sundowns have amassed 357 victories in total, while Chiefs have 340 in 2nd place.
