EFF takes to the streets to protest gang violence in Strandfontein

The Economic Freedom Fighters took to the streets in Strandfontein to protest gang violence in the area. Teaming up with residents, the party led the protest to the local police station where a list of demands was handed over to the authorities

The EFF led a protest against gang violence in Strandfontein to the local police station.

Residents of the area say they have had enough and have taken their complaints to the police station, where they handed over a memorandum of demands.

Carrying banners saying 'Gangsters Must Fall' and 'End to Gangsterism' the residents are calling for swift action.

Representing the political party, Nazier Paulsen explained that the protest was an appeal to community organisations as well as political parties to assist in protesting gangsterism, drug activities, and the numerous rapes and murders that take place.

A worried mother carrying her child expressed her anger at the crime in her area.

“It’s because of the recent crime activity that’s been happening in our area, there have been shootings here four days ago. For this past year, youth have been dying through gang violence.”
