According to a report by EWN, Maimane told the crowd that the DA has a solution to the crime in the area.
Part of the solution is decentralising policing. This will apparently give provinces more power to fight crime and protect communities.
We want an honest and professional police service. We want to make sure that police are able to respond by giving them the right equipment, making sure that police stations are well capacitated, making sure that there is adequate intelligence in the province to fight crime.
Maimane also said that the DA will focus on the police that is understaffed and the lack of police stations' resources.
All this will happen if the DA wins.
