Fans of King Monada are very upset that his track, Malwedhe didn't win the Summer Song of the Year 2018 title. After fans complained about it, 2 Thobela FM DJs were taken off the air and an internal investigation was launched into inappropriate comments.
King Monada's fans are furious that his song, Malwedhe didn't win the title of 2018 SABC Summer Song of the Year.
There was an uproar when the Thobela FM DJ's declared Master KG’s Skeleton Move as the Summer Song of the Year before an official announcement was made.
Briefly.co.za reported that 22-year-old Master KG also won a brand new Kia car and a R100 000 cash prize as part of the title.
The two DJs, DJ Boeli Alpheus Mailula and DJ Kwenisto Makwena M, have been removed from air, according to a report by News24.
Neo Momodu, the SABC's spokesperson, said Thobela FM management noted the comments by the DJs.
Meanwhile, the Limpopo Artists Movement lodged an official complaint with the SABC against the 2 DJs.
South Africans weren't impressed with the 2 Thobela FM DJs. After King Monada's fast rise to popularity, it was believed he had this competition in the bag.
