- Leshabela was announced in the squad for a recent Carabao Cup fixture
Leicester City have confirmed that South African youngster, Khanya Leshabela, has signed a new deal with the club.
The Foxes announced the three-and-a-half year deal via their Twitter account on Tuesday.
Leshabela joined the English Premier League (EPL) team in March 2013 and has been slowly progressing through their youth system.
Manager Claude Puel has clearly been impressed with the attacking midfielder as he called him up into the squad for their fixture against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.
The Frenchman is not afraid of giving youngsters a chance as Ben Chilwell and Hamza Choudhury will attest to.
Leshabela sees himself as a midfielder who can play anywhere in the middle of the park but likes to be on the ball.
The 19-year-old told LCFC TV, “I’ve worked hard to get this and I’m just grateful to be given such an opportunity. This is the hard bit right now! I’m just looking to push forward and push into the first team.”
