A woman from Haryana, India who gave birth at the age of 72 says motherhood isn't easy at her age.
Daljinder Kaur made headlines around the world when she gave birth to a healthy baby boy via in vitro fertilisation (IVF) in 2016.
She and her husband Mohinder Singh Gill had been married for decades without a child, Western Journal reports. Gill was 79 at the time.
When they heard of IVF, they decided to try it out and it was a success. Kaur reflected on her motherhood experience so far in a recent interview, Briefly.co.za learned.
She said although her son Arman has been a blessing, he's now a bundle of energy:
Since he’s been crawling, I’m on my hands and knees, and it’s hard. My body can’t take it. It’s been harder than I thought.
My blood pressure has suffered, and I get tired very easily now. I’ve seen several doctors but they just give me medicines and a diet plan.
She also expressed concern about her husband, who is now in his 80s. She worried that she might no longer be able to care for him as well.
Nevertheless, she remained hopeful that "God will take care of everything."
