Twitter user @TakaTina1 shared a photo of a man dressed in a school uniform on Wednesday.

The inspirational post read: "Big up to Bab' uMthetwa (50) who decided to catch up on what he missed out after completing his 45 year sentence at St Albans Correctional Service. Today he begins grade1. Takes a lot of guts."

However, gathered by looking at the comments, South Africans were not buying the story and soon they started poking holes in @TakaTina1's tweet.

Some social media users pointed out that if the man was 50 and he spent 45 years in jail, he would have been five at the time of him imprisonment.

The author of the tweet tried to give an explanation, but it seemed quite far fetched. According to @TakaTina1, the man was born in prison and had to finish his mother's sentence after she passed away.

In another explanation, @TakaTina1 said his mother died while giving birth to him in jail, but his original post suggested he was five-years-old when he went to prison.

"No. His mother was,he was inside his mother, she was pregnant. She died while giving birth so he was forced to complete his mother's sentence since bekhona when the crime occurred," he tweeted.

Needless to say, tweeps did not believe his explanation either.
