Not all heroes wear capes- some come in the form of a friendly madala who took the time to help two ladies and a child.
Lucas Mahlangu was hailed a hero after he helped a woman, her daughter and grandson, after they were left stranded with a flat tyre.
Sending her story to Positive Relationships in SA, Triecia Naude explained they were busy driving when they realised something was wrong.
"My daughter, my grandson and I, at 15h03 realized that something was not right with our vehicle, so we pulled off at Zambezi drive in Pretoria North. We noticed that the right front wheel was flat."
Naude added they retrieved the 'jack' and spare tyre and started to work on changing the flat. She added no one stopped to help them, until Mahlangu came running to their aid.
"Shortly after that an elderly man Lucas Mahlangu came running, not even walking, towards us," she added.
Without a second thought, Mahlangu changed the tyre and sent them off with a huge smile. But, not before they snapped a pic of their new hero.
Briefly.co.za gathered the story inspired others, who took to social media to praise the helpful madala.
Maureen Dunmore van Rensburg commented: "Such incredible willingness to SERVE without gain is an inborn trait in our people. Politics and society get in the way of that natural inclination. Bravo Papa!"
Shanelle Sal Willemse added: "That smile has so much warmth to it. God bless you Papa Lucas."
