A hilarious video has surfaced on social media which showed a grade one learned making a break for it- with his dad in tow.
On Wednesday, South African parents got their youngster ready for their first day of school. Although some grade ones were excited to begin their school careers, others weren't so happy.
One little man in particular decided to make a run for it- and his dad had to chase after him. Luckily, the entire incident was caught on video and social media users could not contain their laughter.
The footage was posted on Twitter by @HopeWellEy, who captioned the video: "Bundle of joy couldn't take the pressure. decided to run back home."
The video had South Africans laughing out loud and they took to social media to share their views on the little marathon runner.
Fumane Mantshiyane, who goes by the Twitter handle @mashianaf, commented: "He is one of those kid who'll ask, daddy when a I going to school but when that time comes he feels like mm I'm not ready for this."
Antony Chanyau, @antonychanyau, added: "Bundle of joy becomes Usain Bolt."
Meanwhile, the runaway grade one is not the only learner who had a tough time with his first day. Briefly.co.za previously reported about another grade R pupil, who sat crying in class.
After a video of the emotional youngster was shared on social media, South Africans called for teachers' salaries to be raised.
