Fans and friends of rapper Nomuzi Mabena were in disbelief when the rapper was involved in a car accident during a live Instagram feed.

But shock has slowly turned into doubt as fans began analyzing the now viral video. In the video, Mabena is seen sitting in a car and talking about her record label, Nomuzi Mabena music. Thereafter, a loud crash is followed by a shattered windscreen.

Fans are questioning why the car airbags were not deployed on impact, and others are questioning the nature of the crash as the vehicle appeared stationary. Mabena’s silence has also done nothing to dispel the swirling rumours.

Briefly.co.za reported that many were speculating that the incident was a campaign to raise awareness.

Fellow musician Danny K, commended the campaign by posting:

“With the carnage on our roads, fabricating a stunt as disturbing as the #Nomuzi video to correct our behavior kinda makes sense to me. Until we know that's the case I'll assume it's real and send prayers up”

Meanwhile social media users are in two minds about the incident, with many expressing anger and disgust at the campaign.

Mabena has not yet commented.
