Social media users were shocked after a photograph was shared on Twitter which showed people using their phones while in church.
Church is a place where you go to learn about God and his word, and to praise the Lord though praise and worship.
So, tweeps were left baffled after a photo made its way on social media, which show members of a church fixated on their cellphone during a sermon.
The image was shared on Thursday by social media user Olaudah Equiano, who captioned it: "See the modern church. Smartphones have become gods to some people."
Briefly.co.za decided to take a look at some of the reactions the photo gathered.
Social media user @Oga_ba commented: "More like so because people go to church out of habit not because they want to be there."
Another tweep, @mac_nest, added: "Yes, but let the technology not take or override the idea behind going 2 church. If we are using bible app that's fine. But we hv to focus on what's being preached. Evn if its the bible book itself. We don't have to read it all in church buh hear what's preached then read at home."
Twitter user @SwaziDlamini24 wrote: "They were probably dragged to church by their parents anyways not because of their own free will."
