BLF wants to expropriate "Caves, Mines, Game Reserves and seas"

- BLF's secretary general made the call in a recent tweet

- It is the latest in a series of provocative statements from the party

- Unsurprisingly, social media had a lot to say about the tweet

Black First Land First (BLF) now says that it will expropriate game reserves, caves and even South Africa's oceans.

"Forget about Ramaphosa's empty promises to 80'000 helpless blacks in DBN," BLF's secretary general and 'Marxist-Leninister schooler' Siphesihle Jele wrote in a tweet. "BLF is now expropriating Caves, Mines, Game Reserves and seas."

The message was accompanied by photos of BLF members standing in nature areas.

This is not the first time BLF has called for the expropriation of land - it is a central part of their platform - but it is the first time they have called for the expropriation of nature areas like caves and game reserves. This is the latest in a series of provocative statements from BLF.

BLF leader Andile Mngxitama has in the past called for "all the land in white hands" to be expropriated. He has also referred to himself as a "constitutional delinquent" and called for five white people to be killed for each black person that has died due to taxi violence.

Unsurprisingly, social media had a lot to say about Jele's tweet. "I want land in the Kruger. Right next to the lions. Please organize," tweeted one user.

"I don't get it," tweeted Taryn14, another user, "That is already public land. You essentially 'expropriating' land already expropriated."
