A video captured by a dashboard camera shows shocking footage of a baby who remained secured in a car seat falling out of a moving car onto a road in Minnesota.
A man who was driving behind the car which the baby was in, is shown rushing out of his own car to stop the oncoming traffic while he picks up the baby who was still in the car seat. The man checks on the baby while other drivers and bystanders rush to the scene, Briefly.co.za found.
He then moves the baby to safety on the sidewalk while waiting for the car to return.
The quick-thinking driver who picked up the baby, Chad Mock, told US news agency, Inside Edition that the child was calm and appeared uninjured.
The police reportedly said that the child’s car seat was not correctly attached to the mother’s car.
Chad added that the “hysterical” mother reappeared on the scene fifteen minutes after the incident occurred.
Social media users were baffled by the incident questioning why the door was not closed in addition to the car seat not being installed correctly.
While some users believed the door closed after the baby fell out because of the speed and direction of the car, others believed there were no physical dynamics that would have closed the door.
