AKA is voting for the ANC but does not know why. In a series of tweets, rapper AKA, one of the country’s most influential celebrities, revealed that he would be voting for the ruling party in the upcoming 2019 elections.
His allegiance to the green, gold and black flag has not been a secret. Briefly.co.za reported that the rapper took to social media to throw shots at a DA election campaign. The online campaign was a video uploaded by the opposition party, from a march to Anderson Street in the city centre.
“I am ANC through and through but I need understanding and reassurance of what we stand for and where we are headed”
AKA urged people to be proud of the ANC and understand that it “belongs to us.”
Social media users voiced concern over the rapper not having solid reasons for supporting the ANC. Many commented that this is why the ruling party have been winning election after election, while not improving the lives of South Africans.
Others even accused the Victory Lap hit maker of being paid by the ANC to tweet. Aka denied the accusations.
