Soulja Boy has gifted the Internet with the greatest meme of the year so far.
The rapper appeared on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club where he was asked about his thoughts on fellow musicians Kanye West, Tyga and Drake. And he had the Net in stitches.
When radio hosts Charlamagne Tha God and crew insisted Drake was the "biggest rapper in the world," Soulja Boy made it very clear that he disagreed. He got up from his chair and blessed social media with what will probably be the most looped video this month:
Soulja Boy probably didn't expect his reaction to blow up the way it did but we all know by now that memes are not created, but are spontaneously born. This is a lesson that our former Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula had to harshly learn when he tried to make himself a meme recently. Briefly.co.za reported that the ANC politician was met with a cold shoulder by social media viewers who were not interested in manufactured memes.
The rapper insisted that he made Drake and that the Scorpion album hitmaker stole some of his lines.
Soulja Boy’s career became stagnant, just as Drake began to flourish, and although many attribute his rant to jealousy, others agree that he made valid points.
They still dragged him though, just because they can.
