- The show will always be remembered with him in it, he is a South African legend
If the sound of Noot vir Noot does not get you excited or bring back childhood memories, are you even South African? After 29 long years, Johan Stemmet, the face of Noot vir Noot, has thrown in the towel.
Like the colour red is to Coca-Cola, Johan Stemmet is to Noot vir Noot. If you take away the one thing that people remember something by, you take away the thing completely.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Stemmet will host his final episode of SABC 2’s Noot vir Noot on Thursday evening at 19:00, according to Netwerk24.
"After 28 years of doing the show I feel like this will be one of the most exciting finales ever," Stemmet wrote on his Facebook page.
Stemmet has hosted over 43 seasons of Noot vir Noot. That is more than 700 episodes.
At 66-years-old, Stemmet is a true South African legend. At the 2018 SAFTAs he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Although Stemmet is calling it a day, Noot vir Noot will carry on. The show is set to get a new host and a little facelift.
No matter how much times passes, in the hearts of the people of Mzansi, Johan Stemmet will always be the face of Noot vir Noot.
