Many South African social media users would be familiar with the popular Twitter account, @AdvBarryRoux.
Briefly.co.za recently shared the news that the man identified as the creator of the account to be Csho “Shepard” Chilala.
Also referred to as “the advocate” by many, the 27-year-old Zambian citizen is ironically believed to be the man behind many a trending topic involving South African politicians.
Although @AdvBarryRoux is credited with many accurate and insightful tweets, some have been questioned for their reliability.
With a following in excess of 500 000, he generally seems to get South Africans talking with some of his controversial posts.
Now, @AdvBarryRoux has received the support of an unlikely ally in the form of EFF leader, Julius Malema.
Malema backed @AdvBarryRoux in a tweet from his personal Twitter account.
His tweet implies the heat directed towards the advocate is due to the threat he poses to Stratcom.
@AdvBarryRoux has also been bullish in his response to the media reports alleging him to be Chilala.
He and his supporters labelled the reports as fake news and #HandsOffBarryRoux has been trending ever since.
