A passenger was forcefully removed from a kulula.com flight on Sunday night and a video of the incident was posted on social media.
An entire flight heading from Durban to Joburg was reportedly cancelled on Sunday after a woman allegedly caused a scene and police had to be called in.
According to the airline's statement on Monday, the woman got angered after the pilot disembarked the aircraft.
Briefly.co.za learned there was a delay because of a weather disruption to an earlier flight. The female passenger then allegedly lost her cool and threatened the cabin crew.
“The captain decided to disembark the aircraft after a customer became unruly and refused to leave the flight after failing to comply with instructions from both the crew and the police,” the statement read.
However, according to Sanele Gumede, the passenger did nothing wrong and she was assaulted by the law enforcement officials.
TimesLIVE reported Gumede said the female passenger did not threaten any of the crew members and she was 'dragged' down the stairs by the police.
The video sparked quite the reaction on social media and South Africans were confused over what really happened.
Twitter user @kristal_mopt commented: "Am I the only one wondering why she had to be removed? Like what did she do??"
The video was posted on @crimeairnetwork's Twitter page on Monday. Take a look at the footage below:
