Iconic Zimbabwean musician, Oliver Mtukudzi, has died today after a month-long battle with an unknown illness.
He passed away at a Harare hospital after being brought in for emergency medical attention yesterday.
Zimbabwean publication, Masvingo Mirror, broke the news that the legend had passed away a few hours ago in the ICE at Avenues Clinic in Harare.
NewsDay has reported that the death has been confirmed by a family member.
Gallo Record Company, his record label, has also confirmed his passing.
His family has yet to release a statement and the cause of death remains unknown. Tributes have begun to pour in through social media.
One of the most recognisable Zimbabwean musicians was also a businessman, philanthropist, human rights activist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
