A social media user, who was identified as entrepreneur Themba Rumbu, asked South Africans' help.
Rumbu explained his neighbor lost everything in a fire and needed others' help to get back on her feet.
Briefly.co.za gathered Rumbu's neighbor quit her job and opened her own day care. However, the aspiring business owner's dreams went up in smoke- literally.
A fire burnt down her entire building, making it unfit to act as a place of learning for small kids.
"Last year my neighbor quit her job and started a day care. Her dreams were broken when a fire burnt everything down last week. It’s difficult to start up Know it’s too much to ask but if you can help please do. If you don’t a simple retweet can," he captioned a series of photos.
It would not be the first time citizens come together to help someone in need. Briefly.co.za reported previously about a family whose home burnt down.
South Africans rallied together and in just four hours the R5 000 target was hit. The money raised will help the Lungiswa family rebuild their home and, in the process, restore their dignity and hope. The initiative raised a total of R 6 732.42.
