King Price are quickly becoming synonymous with comical but witty ads and their latest one is no exception.
One effective way to create brand awareness is through the use of humour.
Nandos are a classic example of how a company can rapidly gain popularity and a positive reputation by helping South Africans see the funny side.
It seems the insurance company, King Price, are following in the same vein.
They previously released the hilarious ‘do something sexy with a tractor’ and ‘lobola’ adverts.
Their latest offering ties in with the popular belief that South African citizens and policemen aren’t averse to the occasional bribe.
The video shows a motorist being pulled over by a traffic cop.
The cop warns the motorist that he was guilty of speeding and will incur a R500 fine.
The man then asks if there is a way to sort the matter out privately.
The interaction between the 2 gives viewers the impression that a bribe will be offered and accepted.
However, the twist reveals a misunderstanding between the words ‘bribe’ and ‘braai’.
Briefly.co.za has shared the comical ad here.
