When Minnie Dlamini-Jones took to Instagram to announce her engagement, a lot of people were surprised. She had kept the relationship very private and still continues to do so even in marriage.

Fans and fellow celebrities celebrated with the media personality after she married her beau, Quinton Jones. Her privacy in this relationship is starkly different from her previous relationship with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, which was broadcast to the world.

We hardly saw pictures of them together on social media, which is probably the lesson she’s learnt about keeping her love life private.

So when she shared her journey to becoming a Mrs on national TV, we were all quite surprised.

But after watching the show, we now understand why Mrs. Jones decided to share her love story with the world.

1. Always give love a chance

Minnie has taught us that its possible to recover from heartbreak. She was humiliated after the end of her relationship with Khune, but didn’t let that break her.

On the show, Minnie explained that she’s always known that she’d end up with Quinton.

2. A solid support system is a must

We also learn that Minnie has a solid support system around her, which helps to keep her marriage intact. This includes friends and a praying mother.

Minnie has some amazing influences in her life within the industry like Somizi Mhlongo, Unathi Msengana, Basetsana Kumalo and Nandi Madida.

Briefly.co.za reported that they were some of the guests to attend her white wedding. The lavish affair was held in Cape Town and she wore two wedding gowns designed by Gert-Johan Coetzee.

3. At the end of the day, love wins

Celebrity or not, we are all human and deserve love. At the end of the day, we’re all just looking for someone who will love and appreciate us for who we are- this is something Minnie made clear on the show.
