Social media users were left shocked and angered after footage went viral of military training in an African country.
A video has gone viral on social media which showed alleged military training in Uganda, Briefly.co.za gathered.
The footage showed troops crawling through mud while their superiors beat them with sticks. The trainees then have to roll down a hill, soaking wet and covered in mud. Throughout the video, they can be heard screaming while the generals bark orders in the back ground.
At one point, a man was seen laying exhausted on the ground. However, at the end it appears those who participated in the training where celebrating their success.
The footage divided social media users. Some felt the training was pointless and abusing while others said war is not child's play and soldiers should be ready for anything.
Ibrahim Jalloh commented: "May Allah Guide These People How Can you Treat them Like This."
Jalloh added: "Why should Our Brothers And Sisters Be Treated Like This May God Help them."
Obby Subakanya Nsonge defended the video, adding: "Removing the civilian mentality. When you join, you are trained to ACT, THINK, REASON, BEHAVE and RESPOND differently."
Bylon Ssemuyaba said: "This is military training everywhere. I mean in the State they make you stand in a mad pool for more than 24 hours until one quits. Its call condition adapting! Dah"
