Rasta has left Mzansi confused and amused after he painted Gqom artistes Babes Wodumo and Tipcee. The artist has gained fame for his less than accurate depictions of famous South Africans who have passed away. But seeing as both Babes and Tipcee are still very much alive, social media users were left wondering what Rasta was up to.
Rasta, whose real name is Lebani Serenje, has become the popular butt of jokes on social media. However, the Zimbabwean born artist remains unbothered by the hate.
Rasta, who is now used to the criticism, said he let the "hate" slide because in most cases, people judge his incomplete work. He went on to say that drawing is a passion and something he lives for.
Social media users had a field day with the picture, many of them asking Rasta to identify who was who in the painting that sadly looked like neither Tipcee nor Babes.
Briefly.co.za recently reported that following the death of music great Oliver Mtukudzi, social media users took to the Internet to warn the infamous "funeral artist" to stay away from painting the musician.
He obviously didn’t listen and gifted South Africa with his representation of what Oliver Mtukudzi looked like.
At this point, we need to all just accept that Rasta is here to stay.
