Thuto Mphalele is making her dreams a reality after taking a giant leap of faith and dedicating herself to make her bakery business a success. The courageous young woman changed her degree and put all her eggs in one basket, determined to have a career that makes her happy.
Although Thuto was studying accounting, she always felt as though she lacked the passion and enthusiasm for the field. She decided to drop out, determined to follow a career path that would make her happy. Her parents were supportive and wanted Thuto to be proud of what she does, Briefly.co.za found.
Thuto decided she was better suited to the hospitality industry, and while she was finishing her studies, she started exploring the world of cake decorating.
As it turned out, the course ignited her true calling, at soon Thuto became a baker and entrepreneur. She started a new business called Frutti Cakes,that specialises in making delicious treats like cakes and pastries.
Thuto took initiative and created the life she envisioned for herself.
It wasn’t always easy, and Tuto struggled at first. But she continued working hard and now, Frutti Cakes is profitable and Thuto usually has at least five orders a week.
Frutti Cakes creates beautiful delicacies and themed cakes to rival that of the Cake Boss, the television show that inspired the cake decorating course that Thuto attended. She makes cakes for every occasion, including birthday cakes and wedding cakes.
