South Africans praised a young man after photos were posted on social media showing him going the extra mile to make a little extra cash.
With unemployment rates at a record high, a lot of South Africans are struggling to make ends meet. However, while some wallow in their fate, others take matters into their own hands.
Antionette Van Drie Riviere took to Facebook on Sunday to share the story of such a young man.
Originally written in Afrikaans, Briefly.co.za translated the post and some of the comments in English.
"Anon please. Today, I stumbled on a young man who disposed rubbish in Vanderbijlpark. I take my hat off to the young man for making a plan to earn money and not just say he had no job," the post read.
The story inspired many and South Africans praised the young man's hustle.
Marcha Soer wrote: "It is wonderful and nothing to be ashamed off!! Proud of the young man!"
One of the Facebook users said she knew the young man and explained that he's always willing to help.
Bernardete De Abreu Brits: His name is Morné and he resides in SE4. Always willing to help. Asks R5 per bag."
