South Africans were astounded by a young man’s dedication and hard work, after a social media user shared his story on Facebook.
Bass-John Magethi said that he came across a cashier at a garage in Cape Town, who was making the most of his time by studying while he was at work, determined to do well at university.
The man is studying law through UNISA and refusing to let any second go to waste, he studies and keeps up with the tough workload while completing his shifts to make money in the meantime.
Magethi was proud of the man, remembering how he had to study in between work as well, when he was completing his degree. He added that it was a late night shift and the store was not busy, so the man wasn’t inconveniencing customers, and was ready and eager to assist customers at any moment.
Social media speculated about whether the dedicated young man was studying for supplementary exams (rewrites) as he was already working so early in the year.
