An adorable video of young school learners showing love and friendship towards their classmates warmed the hearts of South Africans on social media.
The video of the St. Patrick’s CBC learners in Kimberly, shows a young boy greeting his classmates with hugs, high fives and adorably poorly-coordinated fist-bumps.
The school selects a new learner to greet every child individually each morning as they walk into class, in an attempt to encourage learners to treat each other with kindness and to start the day off on a high note.
Every kid gets to choose how they would to say hello, and many of the learners in the video chose to receive a hug to start the day off right.
The young kids take their greeting seriously, making sure they take a second to be in the moment and focused on their little friends, Briefly.co.za found.
Even though the boy doing the greetings seems shy because of the camera recording him, he enthusiastically hugs his classmates with the brightest smile, even picking them up off the ground.
Social media couldn’t help but gushed at the cuteness of the boys showing each other love and kindness. Many user’s pointed out that disrespect and hatred is taught and not inherent.
They proudly added that these little kids treat each other better than many adults do and considered the video to be a lesson in humanity and respect.
