Yvonne Chaka Chaka amused as kids from village sing Umqombothi

Yvonne Chaka Chaka was left highly amused when she visited a village recently and the children were singing her song Umqombothi.

The music icon took to her Instagram to post the video of children happily singing her popular classic. The song is about African Beer (umqombothi) and the children kept repeating the chorus

“We MaDlamini uphi umqombothi?” (Mrs Dlamini, where is the beer?)

Her fans were also amused by the display, sharing their own memories associated with the timeless classic. One fan said:

I sang this song my whole childhood. My dad loves music and he bought a video cassette with many of your songs.

The amused star said that she was reminded of her childhood days growing up in Zimbabwe.

Briefly.co.za reported that she recently took to social media to mourn the death of industry peer and friend, Oliver Mtukudzi.

The legendary Zimbabwean musician was a beloved musician and released 58 albums during his musical career. Yvonne Chaka Chaka was saddened by Oliver's death as he was one of her musical mentors.
