Nomboniso Gasa shared an uplifting and positive story about the unfortunate circumstances she found herself in.
Nomboniso had been robbed in Johannesburg and reported it to the police. She went to Central Johannesburg Police Station and spent more than 3 hours there because it was extremely busy and there were few officers on duty.
Despite being stretched so thin, the officers who were present were extremely helpful, pleasant and professional, wrote Nomboniso.
Nomboniso was particularly impressed with Warrant Officer Sibeko, who she says was good with everyone who was waiting, turning their bad days into a more positive experience.
She suggests that he should even be put in a ‘client liaison’ position because he handled everyone in the station well.
An officer who used to work at the Central Johannesburg station said he recalls how Sibeko would make everybody laugh, despite the stressful situations they were in.
He added, “You must catch him night shift 2am reciting about dreams, history, crime, Jhb Central Trivial chronicles.”
To put everyone’s minds at ease, Nomboniso added that she was unharmed after the incident despite being scared by the gun.
A Twitter user, Mpumi Sthembile also had a positive experience with the warrant officer.
She says she was in the station last year after being mugged and while she was waiting for her turn, she watched him kindly deal with two drivers involved in a car accident. She says he is a bubbly human being.
Social media users applauded Nomboniso for being able to notice another human being’s kindness after having experienced a traumatic event.
