Domestic workers do more than just clean your house and one woman wanted to thank four ladies who had worked for her over the years.
Taking to social media, a woman shared her story on a new Facebook group, Positive Human Stories in SA, a page aimed at spreading positivity in a country that is otherwise crippled by racism, discrimination, and inequity.
So, Briefly.co.za decided to share her touching post:
"I want to share photos of some of the ladies working for me over the years. If it were not for them, I would not have been able to work," she started off the post.
"They looked after my house and my children as if it were their own. Despite the fact that their husbands' were either deceased or left them with 3 kids to cope on their own. Some got better jobs and some are retired now and some of them are not with us anymore!"
"Even now I have an angel helping me out, despite the fact that she lost her husband 2 months ago. We still phone each other on our birthdays! To all the Maria's, Nellie's, Chrizelda's, Jane's, Alfonsina's and Marina's out there...... THANK YOU!!! I have huge respect for you! You were my other family," she ended the post.
