DJ Zinhle's life has been on display ever since her relationship with AKA came under the spotlight. But the star says she doesn't pay attention to what people have to say. Instead, she chooses to focus on her family and inspiring the next generation of female DJs.
The DJ nearly broke the internet after social media users discovered that she was on a vacation with baby daddy AKA, The pair publicly split up three years ago, after it emerged that the rapper had allegedly been cheating on her with media personality Bonang Matheba.
She told TshisaLIVE that she had far more important things to worry about than what people think of her private life. She says that she let’s her work speak for itself. She also added that AKA’s work does the same.
"I was at my cousin's funeral over the weekend and it got me thinking about what is important in life. In the face of death, does the things we worry about really matter? I am now in a space where I am selective of what really bothers me."
The musician is now focused on assisting young female DJs.
She opened up a DJ academy a while ago which focuses on training aspiring DJs. They were recently announced as a scholarship patron of the SAE Institute. The organisation partners with Bridges for Music to offer scholarships for deserving disadvantaged students, who want to study audio.
Briefly.co.za recently reported that the star decided that it was time to put the brakes on and make a little time for her loved ones. It is not easy to ‘turn off’ when you are an independent business mogul, mom, artiste and innovator like Zinhle is, but it definitely is important. Zinhle has been making more and more time for the little things. From vacations with her co-parenting partner to making smoothies with her mini me, the star is realising the importance of doing her.
