'Minus 3 future problems': Man's comments about Vanderbijlpark tragedy sparks outrage

A man managed to enraged South Africans after he wrote that he could not feel sorry for the 'white kids' that died at Hoërskool Driehoek in Vanderbijlpark on Friday morning.

A man, who as identified by his Facebook profile as Siyanda Dizzy Gumede, was slammed on Friday after he made heartless comments about the high school learners who died after a walkway collapsed.

Commenting on SABC News Online's post about the incident, Gumede wrote he could not feel sorry for the pupils.

“Don’t have heart to feel pain for white kids,” he said, adding: "Minus 3 future problems."

Briefly.co.za gathered a screenshot of his comment was taken before it could be deleted. The Citizen reported Gumede's assumption that all three victims were white is unfounded since the identities, and race, of the deceased have not been revealed.

However, he is not the only social media user who dragged race into a tragic incident. Twitter parody account Man's Not Barry Roux also shared a screenshot, this one of a tweep who was relieved that the school allegedly had only white kids.

Social media users, black and white, slammed these men's posts about the tragedy.

Responding to Gumede, Matshidiso Matla said: “You are disgusting wena..imagine if it was yur child involved in the incident.”
Molebohe Matsapola added: “No my bra…you are not part of the South Africa we are working towards.”
