AFTER dominating the music scene at parties across the world, DJ Black Coffee's debut movie, Matwetwe, has been dominating the movie scene too, bringing in R2million in the last 8 days.
DJ Black Coffee was the executive producer and part funded of director Kagiso Lediga's film.
According to TshisaLive, the artist told them that since the movie opened two weeks ago, it has brought in more than R2million at the box office.
"The film has been doing really well. We reached around R900,000 in three days and it has just gotten stronger from there. We are now over R2-million. It reached it in eight days and we are happy because it took eight days to make," he said.
Due to its popular demand, movie houses had to increase the number of cinemas that the film was being screened at over the second week.

Kagiso Lediga's Matwetwe tells the story of two best friends who have just finished matric and have one hell of a New Year's eve in Atteridgeville. Their adventures include scoring a big deal, dodging a kingpin gangster, and winning over a girl.
DJ Black Coffee played a huge part in the film's success. He helped finance the project, gave creative input, and helped out with the soundtrack too.
Congratulatory messages and praises for the film, executive producer (DJ Black Coffee) and director (Kagisa Lediga) are still being pouring in on social media.
