Limpopo author, Sammy Sehoana refused to let his disability stand in the way of becoming a huge success. In fact, it fuelled his resolve to achieve greatness by being determined and working hard to turn his natural talent into a successful empire.
Sammy had perfect hearing his whole life. That is, unitl 2015, when hearing in both is ears mysteriously disappeared. Sammy says his ears “mysteriously blocked”.
Because of his inability to hear, Sammy struggled to find employment, Briefly.co.za learned.
Although he was in a tough situation, Sammy refused to give up and decided to write a book.
In 2017, Sammy wrote Dialogues Between Dream-Makers. He then wrote a second book, Never Wealthy, in the same year. Both books were recieved well by South Africans.
Dialogues Between Dream-Makers was about life in the townships and the conversations and discussions that people have,sharing their unique experiences and diverse backgrounds.
Never Wealthy is a call for the youth to transform their lives and to refuse to settle for a life as slaves to consumerism and the economy.
Regardless of the books’ enormous successes, Sammy was not yet done taking gigantic strides.
They next year, in 2018, he was inspired to equip people with business skills so that they too can improve their lives. Sammy thus started an entrepreneurship board game
Sammy is an entrepreneur himself, and started a company which helps expose kids to the different industries that they could become involved in when they grow up.
Reconnecting with his creative side, Sammy is the process of transforming his books into scripts for film.
