On Monday, it was reported that the JMPD traced the white Volkswagen Golf, that was filmed spinning and hitting a man, to a motorist in Vlakfontein.

According to TimesLIVE, the man claimed he was not driving the car at the time of the incident. However, the Road Traffic Management Act determines he would be held liable for the accident unless he reveals the identity of the driver in question.

Until he reveals who drove the car, the owner may be held accountable and would have to appear in court.

Meanwhile, JMPD also asked the person who filmed the incident to reveal him, or herself, in order to act as a witness in the trial.

Briefly.co.za reported previously that a video has gone viral on social media which showed a motorist running over a pedestrian while he showed off his spinning skills.

Instead of stopping to help the victim, the motorist continue to show off. A copy of the video was posted on Intelligence Bureau SA's Facebook page last week and within just a couple of hours the video gathered 111k views.
